Commission Clips · Effective October 15, 2026
In short: Commission Clips is a desktop app that turns sermons into short videos on your own computer. Your sermons, transcripts and videos stay on your computer unless you choose to post a video to a social account you connected. We do not sell data, show ads, or track you.
Who we are
Commission Clips is owned and operated by Nicholas Josiah Tassiello, an individual in Oklahoma, USA ("we", "us"). Contact: commissionclipssupport@gmail.com.
What stays on your computer
Sermon files, transcripts, projects, Shorts and exports are processed and stored only on your computer. We have no account system, no telemetry, no analytics tracking and no crash reporting. Error logs are kept locally and are never uploaded automatically.
When the app connects to the internet
| When | Who it talks to | What is sent |
|---|---|---|
| Activating or checking a license | Our store provider (Gumroad or Lemon Squeezy) | Your license key and an activation identifier for this computer. |
| Importing a sermon from a link | The website in the link (for example YouTube) | Anonymous requests to download that public video. No sign-in, cookies or account tokens. |
| First transcription | huggingface.co | A request to download the speech-recognition model. No account. |
| Checking for updates | Our update feed on GitHub | Requests for the update list and installer. No sermon data. |
| Connecting a social account (optional) | That platform (Google/YouTube, TikTok, Meta for Instagram and Facebook) | You sign in on the platform's own page in your browser. The app receives a permission token for that account. |
| Posting a Short (only when you press Post or a schedule you set) | The platform(s) you choose | The video file, its caption and the settings you picked, uploaded directly from your computer. |
| Viewing analytics (optional) | The connected platforms | Requests for your posts' statistics (views, likes, comments, shares, followers). |
Connected social accounts
- What we access: your account's name and picture, permission to upload the videos you choose, and your posts' statistics. We never post without your action, and we do not read your messages, followers' personal data or other people's content.
- Where it is stored: access tokens are stored only on your computer, encrypted with Windows' built-in protection (DPAPI / Credential Manager). Statistics are cached on your computer for display.
- Sign-in helper: some platforms (TikTok and Meta) require a private app key during sign-in, which cannot be kept inside a desktop app. A small sign-in helper we run exchanges the one-time sign-in code for your token and passes it straight back to your computer. It does not store tokens, videos or personal data.
- No sharing or selling: we do not sell, rent or share data from your accounts, and we do not use it for advertising or to train AI models.
Google and YouTube data
Commission Clips uses YouTube API Services. By connecting YouTube you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Commission Clips' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can remove Commission Clips' access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Deleting your data
- Disconnect an account in Commission Clips (Social → Disconnect): the app deletes that account's token and cached statistics from your computer and asks the platform to revoke access.
- You can also revoke access in the platform's own settings (Google account permissions, TikTok "Manage app permissions", Facebook/Instagram "Apps and websites").
- Uninstalling the app and deleting its data folders removes everything it stored.
- Because we keep no copies on our servers, there is nothing else to delete. Questions or requests: commissionclipssupport@gmail.com.
Children
Commission Clips is intended for churches and ministries and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's update notes.
